Talk Talk turned full Prog on this album. Very slow paced and mellow, this is music that has to be listened to with attention. The organ play is just fantastic and really sets the mood. All on this album reminds me of the proggier pieces of Traffic, but dare I say it? This is much better. Because of the poppier style of their previous music and the chilled reception this album got (who would have dared to begin an album with a 23 minutes song in the mid-eighties) Spirit of Eden is not well known is the progressive rock circles.

One of the defining prog albums (and the best non Neo album) of the eighties.
