I had heard some things about the King Biscuit label in the late 90’s that perhaps some of their ‘finances' were not exactly used in the best way possible? Whether this was true or not, it’s unfortunate the label seems to have gone belly-up as for those of us old enough to remember- The King Biscuit Flower Hour was a treasure for true music fans, and I remember taping several shows way back when. Those days are long gone, yet there is SO MUCH more great live material sitting in the King Biscuit vaults and I have to wonder if we’ll ever get to hear it again? Lets hope so.
King Biscuit’s 10cc show is one of the best in the series. Recorded during The Original Soundtrack tour, this set does not include I’m Not In Love as the song was just breaking on the charts at the time, but I do wonder if there was more to this show left out, or perhaps 10cc were in support of another band on this evening? In any case, as we all know 10cc were extraordinarily creative in the studio, but contrary to popular belief, this proves they were a formidable live act as well and how can you can wrong with Silly Love, Old Wild Men and Wall Street Shuffle? Brilliant stuff and will forever regret never seeing them live, but at least I have this.
Buy it, before it disappears.
