Darwin’s Pride debut EP, State of Mind sounds very good. The production is cristal clear. The compositions are strong and the artwork on the album is beautiful. The three songs leave a longing for more. So keep track of this great Prog-Metal band and hope that they will record a full length album very soon in the near future.

1. Illusions
It opens with a layer of wide keyboard parts. Prog metal with a little taste of classic Rock. But then metal hits your ears and you will be swiped of your feet and hear the excellence of DP. Rob’s voice perfectly fits the mood and transports you into dark country and into the minds of Darwin’s Pride. Survival of the fittest!.

2. Scared
Metal crunchy guitar intertwined with the best Darwin’s Pride has to offer. A great song with a feeling that leaves you behind with a longing for more. Heavy on the guitar and yet such delicate taste in words. A great effort by Kuhn/Laarhoven.

3. Emotions
A beautiful piano and keyboard accompanied with the great guitar sound. It will lead you in and holds you down and grip you by the throat. Robs delicate voice is a match made in heaven or … The combination of the two, voice and progmetal is captivating. Further great wide open keyboard parts hits you and will give you goose bumps . Just pure enjoyment for your ears. This is a great up and coming Dutch promise. Rating:85 %
