Saw Van der Graaf Generator live in Québec City about 10 or 12 years ago (my only time). Great show. I had the chance to have a seat that allowed me to see Hugh Banton play his keyboards and bass pedals simultaneously. What an incredible musician. I saw  Rick Wakeman and Keith Emerson live a number of times. Excellent and great showmanship, but I was never more impressed than by Banton's performance. Only reservation I had with the VDGG show in Québec was the few songs from the 70's they played. Still, being familiar with their newer stuff (and liking it),  I really enjoyed myself.

The Bath Forum Concert was from their latest (last?) tour. Having been disappointed by a few of the old timers giving live shows (Genesis, Jethro Tull... but not by King Crimson, Steve Hackett... and hopefully not by Peter Gabriel in September), I was wandering about Banton's and  Evans' level of playing in 2022, and also about Peter Hammill's voice?

Well have no fear. They still have it, and Hammill can belch it out as much as he ever was able. Compared to their 70's album Vital, this is way better. Just as good as my Québec City show. The production of this live album is incredible. With a good pair of headphones you can hear everything!! The band also includes a lot of the old stuff, even some solo Hammill. What more can you ask for?

The bath Forum Concert will certainly be in my Top 10 best live albums of all time. Highly recommended indeed!!!!
