I would categorize The Traveler as prog/pop. All the songs are in the 2 to 6 minutes range and with 9 tracks, we get about 35 minutes of music.

This being said, The Traveler is a very good album. Kerzner sings a lot like Ray Wilson (with less power). Because of that and the music itself (i.e. heavy drums, crunchy guitars and a few nice ballads) I am very much reminded of Genesis' Calling All Station, but with the longer tracks missing. RPWL's poppier songs also come to mind. Add to that ''A Time In Your Mind'', an obvious hommage to Peter Gabriel, and what else do you want.

Nothing complicated, but Dave Kerzner's The Traveler will fit right in there in your 80's prog/pop album collection.
