The music on this album is taken from my DVD movie ‘The Garden of Fifi Chamoix’ (2017). It has been re-mixed, re-edited and re-mastered, and is now intended to stand alone as a piece of instrumental music, rather than being a ‘souvenir’ of the film. It now becomes my second purely instrumental album, the first being ‘The Vesica Massage’ (2006).
I had always thought that this music was irrevocably fixed to the images of the movie, but in 2021, I finally listened to the music a few times without the picture, something I had never done before, and I realised that I had been mistaken. The music in isolation came over as fresh and exciting, and it became clear that, with some editing and remixing, it would make a splendid instrumental album.
