Two years after their very good album The Oblivion Tales, German duo Melanie Mau & Martin Schnella are back, this time with a covers album.

I guess that Mau and Schnella picked songs they like to cover, because the track list is pretty surprising, since it ranges from pop (Madonna, Eagles...), prog (Spock's Beard, Threshold...) and metal (Judas Priest, Iron Maiden...). All the songs are given an acoustic treatment, featuring Schnella's vituoso guitar and the duo's great vocals and harmonies (think Simon & Garfunkel level of quality here), and they are supported by a group of subtle and talented musicians.

Pieces To Remember is a good place to start with these very talented artists, because you are certain to know just about every song on this album, and their versions are all excellent.
