Markus Stauss is very well known for his free/experimental jazz projects that offer very creative and exciting music that may not be easily approachable by everyone.
Treasures of Light does not fit into this description. In fact I feel that this album should really please fans of mid-seventies Van Der Graaf Generator (circa Godbluff, Still Life...), Markus Stauss' saxophones sounds somewhat reminding me of David Jackson's and John King's guitar style having flavours of Peter Hammill (but also Robert Fripp at times). Early King Crimson flavours (with Mel Collins in the band) also pop up at times.
As usual the music is excellently performed and recorded, with its typical ''live in studio sound''. Great stuff!!
Treasures of Light comes highly recommended indeed.
