The first Uriah Heep album with John Wetton on bass (who seemed to be a pretty hot commodity at the time with Roxy Music, Family and KC) and the last good album to feature vocalist David Byron. Return To Fantasy is a red hot hard rock album and a killer title track to boot. Again, as with every other Heep album, the tunes alternate between the organ drenched prog assault ala Demons & Wizards and straight up blues based hard rock, always with an eye on what Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin were doing before going into the studio. Still, Uriah Heep were never copyists and could always be counted on for a good 35 minutes of hard rock bliss. Wonder how many ‘joints’ have been rolled on the album cover art over the years?
