Yet another live DVD or CD by Kansas since their last studio effort, 2000's Somewhere To Elsewhere. If you purchased some or most of the others a question must be asked, why purchase this one? Even more if you already own their excellent 2002 DVD Device Voice Drum .

Well one of the added qualities of this DVD is the presence of a symphonic orchestra backing up the band. After the first two tracks I was wondering why they had bothered adding an orchestra, since their constribution to the total sound was minimal. But starting with "Point Of Know Return" its presence really adds to the music and after that the orchestra often plays a key role. The band members are also in great form, perhaps because they were celebrating their 35th anniversary at home in their state of origine. Finally, considering the great filming and recording of this special show, and also the presence of Kerry Livgren and Steve Morse, you have something that a Kansas fan will really want to have. I must add that the version I got as a promo did not have the cd version of the concert so I am unable to judge if they are worth putting out a few more bucks to get.

There's Know Place Like Home is a great addition to the catalogue a band that is still pertinent today, at least as a live act. Recommended.
