By the time this album was released I had little interest in Tangerine Dream. From my
perspective they lost me with a series of albums that offered very little creativity when
compared to their earlier work. Having said this, they did present a more melodic and
commercial sound which I am partial to at times, and Le Parc in this context is a fine album of
electronic instrumentals and one of their better 80’s works.
A musical tour of famous recreational parks across the world, Tangerine Dream captures
the flavor and vibe of many of these locations including Zen Garden (Japan) and
Bois de Boulogne (Paris). Again, this all very melodic and ‘pretty’ so if you are
looking for another Ricochet or Zeit pass on Le Parc, but for those
who can get past the band’s influential past, there is much here to enjoy.
