Curt Cress is back - but this CD leans more heavilly to the jazz side of the fence than the earlier Jazz/Rock Fusion recordings that made Passport one of the most important bands of the 70s. This said, the listener now knows what to expect with this recording - fine compositions, subpurb performances by all the band members, and a clean and crisp recorded sound which has distinguised Passport's output from their first CDs. Doldinger is certainly over 60 years old by now but is surely not showing any age on Heavy Nights.
