I saw Hamadryad live in Montréal in 2006 as a warm up band to IQ. I was quite impressed by their performance. On Live we just about get the same show I attended, but in Paris France.

To date Hamadryad have two very good but quite different studio albums. The first one borders on Metal Prog and the second is much closer to Symphonic Prog à la early Genesis. Live covers both cds about equally and that makes for a varied and interesting set.

The band's performance is of top level and the cd sounds great. My only slight reservation is that the lead singer's Québécois accent is stronger than on the studio tracks. Much of what he sings is incomprehensible. Still, Live is a great place to start with Hamadryad. Recommended.
