This italian bands third effort is a lot heavier than before. Their style is still the same, lots of strange melodies, insane twists and just great progressive rock. Recommended for fans of Deus ex machina, Balletto di bronzo and other challenging italian progressive rock bands.

A Piedi Nudi is an Italian band that has a much different sound as a progressive band than many of the countries more famous progbands. They are hard edged and heavy, yet have a complex style, without being tagged a metal band. A couple other Italian bands come to mind:
Garden Wall, & Evil Wings, and there are even some distant likenesses to Deus Ex Machina. This is one of those high-energy cds that has a constant kick, there are some moments of solitude, but they don't last for long. I really like this bands sound, it is somewhat raw and unbridled, the grinding guitars mixed with the many keyboard textures is a unique blend, very solid musicians as well. Vocals are all in Italian, with the singer maintaining a tone that is mid-ranged and very fitting to the bands style of play. Hopefully bands like A Piedi Nudi will find enough of an audience to perpetuate more releases, as this cd is showing a band that has captured a very original take on progressive rock.
