Hi DB When checking the Faust releases I found that there are actually 3 Fausts. The original, active until 2004, and two co-existing, one around Irmler and one around Peron/Diermaier . The latter formation has been rather active since 2005. In the prognosis listing albums of the original Faust and the other two incarnations are mixed. What to do, split into artist Faust 1, 2 & 3 or leave it as it is. Cheers rien

Thanks for your research, Rien. I did not do research, just did a quick look and I find that Hans Joachim Irmler has been on recordings from 1971 through 2000.
Werner Diermaier is on the debut Faust 1971 and on the latest release in 2021.
Help me to see why this should be split up?
Regards, Doug

Hi DB It seems that on a given moment, after the break-up of the ‘original’ Faust, 2 groups under the name Faust existed simultaneously , both with original members of the first Faust and both active. That’why I brought it up. On the other hand, since both groups had/have original Faust members only one listing is not illogical. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faust_(band) Cheers rien
