The Leap Day story starts with Koen Roozen'a (Flamborough Head) successful two year search to form a new Dutch progressive symphonic band. In 2009 he met Derk Evert Waalkens (King Eider) and shortly after vocalist Jos Harteveld (Pink Floyd Project) joined in.
As the project developed, bass player Peter Stel (Nice Beaver), Eddie Mulder (Trion, Pink Floyd Project, Flamborough Head and solo artist) joined up.
FInally in Feb 2008 this project was given the band name of Leap Day.
In 2018, Peter Stel left the band and was replaced by Harry Scholing.
