Airbag started in 1994 after a group of high school friends was inspired by seeing Pink Floyd live on the Division Bell tour. The bands music is clearly influenced progressive music of the Roger Waters era of Pink Floyd and it should be little surprise that all 5 band members are also part of the band: The Pink Floyd Experience.
Lead guitarist and main song-writer, Bjørn Riis, has also released solo recordings under his own name.
