Ciro Perrino is an Italian composer, keyboardist, and multi-instrumentalist whose individual recording career focuses on ambient music, classical orchestrations, and electronic art-rock. Perrino's solo aesthetic is defined by its deep reliance on fluid analog and digital keyboard architectures, subtle acoustic percussion, and pastoral acoustic arrangements. Moving completely away from the energetic rock syncopations of his youth, his solo compositions prioritize slow-building sound design and cinematic soundscapes, creating classical crossover worlds that explore nature themes and minimalist melodic tracking.

Perrino sits deeply within the absolute foundations of the classic Italian progressive rock movement. In 1970, Perrino founded the historic progressive group Il Sistema, an influential band noted for its early blending of classical motifs and heavy woodwinds. Following the fragmentation of that collective, he co-founded the legendary Italian symphonic progressive rock band Celeste in 1972, serving as their primary drummer, mellotron player, and principal composer for their iconic 1976 debut Principe di un Giorno.

His solo albums act as a direct creative extension of the delicate, pastoral acoustic atmospheres pioneered with Celeste, occasionally collaborating with recording engineer Marco Canepa to add grand piano tracks to his independent productions.
