Cirkus dated back well into the Seventies. Their first album Cirkus One was released in 1973. The band never achieved the mass-market appeal of some of their contemporaries and although they had an underground following they split in the early 1980s.
In 1994 was released Cirkus II The Global Cut, where only Derek Miller features from the original line-up. This resulted in a renewed interest in the original album which was rereleased as One Plus with five extra tracks.
In 1998 a third Cirkus album Pantomyne was finally unveiled. This splendid offering brought original members, and main songwriter, Stu McDade back into the fold and featured cameo performances by an array of other musicians most notably former frontman Alan Roadhouse, who played flute.
Sadly Stu ‘Blue’ McDade passed away in 2016 the same year the band signed with Ramshaw Records and 2017 saw the release of Cirkus IV The Blue Star which is dedicated to Stu.
