Official Bio:
Negativehate began in 1995 as a college promise between two passionate philosophy majors Keith Ranalli and Chuck Scandura. Their earliest demos sounded like industrial metal and were as much a reflection of the time as they were the encapsulation of the aggression of hormone driven youth. They were enchanted by the hypnotic sounds of Godflesh, Meathook Seed and Nine inch Nails and their sound incorporated these influences well. There first LP "Earth Spirit Down" received critical acclaim in Metal Maniacs magazine when reviewer Ula Gehret wrote " on those days when nothing else in your collection looks appealing this could be just the ticket." Negativehate's second album "F You and Your Pink Mood" dialed the intensity up a notch and further cemented Negativehate's reputation as a band effectively pushing musical boundaries. During this period from about 1997 to 2002 Neagtivehate frequented the NYC scene playing everywhere from the underground NYC squat houses to the Bank, The Bat Cave, The Continental, The Pyramid and of coarse the legendary CBGBs. Form 1999 to 2001 Negativehate simultaneously recorded and performed with their street hip hop side project Negativefeedback.
In July of 2005 Negativehate's released their third album. For "Annabelle the Cannibal" the musicianship was elevated as Negativehate ventured into the realm of technical math metal. The band toured the East Coast for this album and for the first time in their musical career they found themselves playing a style of music that was trending with a passionate built in following. A follow-up album was being recorded with the same line-up when their drummer was courted away by a touring international act. Jon Karel left Negativehate to join The Number Twelve Looks Like You. While the rest of Negativehate was happy to see their friend go off to tour the globe, the remaining members found it hard to perpetuate the momentum of the band without a drummer.
By April of 2010 Negativehate began to rekindle their musical flame with a new line up featuring twin brothers Eric Stewart on bass and Mike Stewart on keys and percussion and vocals. Later in 2012 they completed their line-up with Sergio Sanchez behind the kit. In that same year they released their 4th LP "In Cosmic Winter" which received their greatest critical feedback to date. Heather Savage from Topicalise said, " To be honest I cant say enough about this bands overall signature sound." And Royroy Richardson from Skope said, "Right now after hearing their music and checking out a few of their live clips they are what we’ve been waiting for musically. I don’t say stuff like that often."
The band spent the following 4 years gigging locally and re-defining their sound with a newfound sonic purpose. New material was being developed that would once again present Negativehate to the musical world as a force to reckon with. In May of 2016 they entered the Clubhouse recording studio in Rhineback NY to record their fifth LP "Solipsis".
