Rainburn is an Indoprogressive rock group based out of Bangalore, India. The band’s sound fuses prog rock trademarks such as multiple time signatures and adventurous song structures with melodies and motifs that subtly evoke a rich Indian heritage.
Founded in August 2011, the original instrumentation of the band included synthesizers, along with guitar, bass and drums. Their early musical output often combined technically-challenging hard rock with smooth jazz textures, earning them notoriety in the southern Indian rock circuit.
In mid-2013, the band discarded keyboards and became a twin-guitar line-up, aiming for more concise and alive-sounding music that was also closer to home.
