Playing the History began as Marco Lo Muscio, John Hackett and Carlo Matteucci.
On their first album, the 2013 self-titled release, they produced progressive rock of classical and symphonic sub-genres along with a number of guests.
By 2018 the band had expanded to include in addition to the 3 mentioned previously, new members - David Jackson (solo, Van Der Graaf Generator), Giorgio Gabriel (The Watch), and Pino Magliani.
