13 of Everything is a new North American outfit, formed in the late 90’s but only now releasing their debut full length cd. They are playing a contemporary progressive style that many times is set in the same frames as Echolyn, IZZ or Finneus Gauge.
It is an energetic, lively and cool mix between art-rock, symphonic prog that is close to that of early Genesis, and with the ramdom inclusion of some more complex principles.

It seems there is a new “school” of contemporary progressive music coming from the States these days. Its sound is chatacterized by a modern feel to the 70’s leanings, a somehow closer, yet angular approach to pop and alternative music, inbreeded inside a shell of pure symphonic prog and , finally, sparkled by easy listening melodic art-rock.
And after early Spocks Beard and then Echolyn being worldlwide known for developing that style, bands like IZZ, Finneus Gauge or 13 of Everything are dimensioning it to their own personal signatures, while, in a broader range, they share the aforementioned characteristics and so can be insered inside that common sub-genre.
Welcome, Humans is the congregation of the tracks that consisted in this bands demo work, re-recorded and re-released in slightly different format, and some new tracks, consisting on the 26 minute opus Late for Dinner, divided in 7 smaller parts.
Musically wise, this band is, therefore, proposing us a cool, catchy and dynamic sympho art-rock with some occasional jazzy elements, always within a joyful atmosphere that tends to put a smile on the listeners face and drive him to jiggle and move according to the rhythm. Therefore, a good-mood spirited music, that must be recommended by this reviewer to those who like modern sympho prog.
