Reviews

review by: NunoHostsonaten is yet another project from one of the most prolific progressive composers in Italy - Zuffantti.
Drifting away from the modern symphonic touch of Finisterre, the variations of his Merlin project or the visit to old Mellotron magical landscapes with La Maschera di Cera, this character has surrounded himself with a whole set of good musicians to release the third chapter of his Hostsonaten venue.

Curiously, the music presented in Springsong hits a completely different audience, style and approach. This is basically a melancholic and deep dive into harmony dreamland.
The way Zuffantti proposes to achieve that relies in a multi-layer structure where several instruments are given the opportunity of taking the leading role, as in a parade.
The music swirls between a Symphonic feeling, Neo-Classic, Folk (both Celtic and Renaissance styled) and even occasional soft jazzy parts are thrown in the mix. All this while maintaining a calm, introspective communion with tasteful melody.

This pearl in form of an album is not to be missed by those who like beautiful music in their prog. Springsong is a huge leap into improved forms of looking at Nature and perfectly represent it in form of this art we love – Progressive Music.
Just one word: Astonishing !
