Reviews

review by: MJBradyHow to desribe this band? Hmmm....., Try to imagine Steve Vai joining King's X, and having the singer/lyricist from Faith no More joining them, yes this is a far fetched analogy, though this is a hard band to place in comparative terms. They definetly have progressive tendancies, if you consider time signature changes, and complexity of composition. They are also capable of being very heavy, though not neccesarily in a metal sense. That's where the King's X comparison gets it's validity. They also have an extraordinary guitarist in Mattias IA Eklundh, he is every bit as ecclectic, excentric, and exceptional as Steve Vai, though the band is not about his guitar heroics, he is very much part of the bands ideal, rather than the focal point, but when he lets loose, you know you are hearing someone extraordinary. Lyrically the band has borrowed more from the school of zaniness and quirk, much like Zappa, or Faith no More, which adds to the pertinance of the bands name. As the music goes, it's very interesting, the musicianship is very good, and as I mentioned before, predominantly heavy, it is also well mixed and performed. They are an unusual band in that they really are not progmetal as one has come to know, nor are they a heavy metal, or hard rock band. They are very unique, falling somewhere between these genres, much the same way the other bands mentioned here are.
