Reviews

review by: Marc

Michael Manring does not need any presentation. Is reputation as a Jazz/Fusion avantgardiste bass player speeks for itself. Kevin Kastning is not as well known, but he is very weel considered as an experimental guitar palyer and innovator.

In Winter is a bass/guitar instumental album of shortish tracks (2 to 4 minutes except for a few pieces) that I would qualify as Ambient/Fusion. Some of the pieces are quite mellow and relaxing, almost mood music at times, while others are more challenging, but always in a slow paced manner.

Given the quality of the musicians involved, In Winter should certainly find it's niche among Ambient/Experimental music lovers. But toe tapping or finger snapping music should not be expected here.
