Reviews
review by:
Valerio
There are band which aren't in my player often and
Life Line Project
is one of them BUT, and yes a big BUT needed, when I play their last effort there is a sort of smile in my face.
Let me "try to try"to explain You why.
Life Line Project
is the perfect example of what progressive music was and continues to be.
This double CD is the essence of
Erik De Beer
compositions, in fact we find re-arrangements of tunes back from 1978...even if most of them are 90's compositions.
In poor words
Mr. De Beer
invited the musicians of all
Life Line Project
formation during the last 20 years and re-played its music. Cheers!
The Journey
is a romantic prog rock experience with one foot in the
classic
field and the other in the
neo-prog
field and the combo is pretty nice. Fluently jumping from a massive use of synths and organs recalling
ELP
(sharp) to folk songwriters sessions (romantic)and hard prog UK school (hard) to farly zappasque feelings (unexpected use of vocals, sometimes just talking or even !blasphemy!rapping).
The Journey
is a real Journey and a document of 20+ years career.
Sometimes I am so obsessed by looking for something "different-weird-avant" that I miss too much how enjoyable can be a classic prog album. Interesting is the message
Life Line Project
transmits through its music and through its lyrics, will take long to give You a detailed description of lyrics, just think of the idea of save this world from the endless corruption it fell in. If You are looking for straight proggettone (big prog!:-)),we say in Italian,
LLP
can be the answer.
If You like to dream on neverending scales and always in progress melodies this can be the answer.
If you are in love with keyboards this is absolutely the answer, even if, don't forget
Mr. De Beer
plays guitars and acoustic bass too.
A complete work with everything standarized with the "prog" method. Three Female singers like a curtain sit above exagerated keyboard harmonies.
There is a kind of "
old-school
" feeling which is really interesting and real authentic progressive rock lovers will enjoy very much.
Recommended!
