Reviews

review by: MJBrady While the cds' contributing members may indicate a flat out guitar shred affair, surprisingly, Garsed/Helmerich delivers a highly focused disc full of well written, and diverse tunes. There is a pop-vocal tune, a blues number(w/vocals also), some fantastic instrumental ballads, and of course some great fusion. Both these guys are well-rounded players, and bring a lot of musical background to the table.

Garsed has often been compared with fellow Australian Frank Gambale, and deservedly so, he shows he has an equally deft touch, as well as a high degree technical expertise. Helmerichs' talent is right on par with Garsed's, his unique style allows enough contrast to Garsed's, to give more identity to each song, he has also been making quite a name as a producer/engineer in the fusion world. The supporting cast of Gary Willis, Bobby Rock, and Paul Mirkovich turn in masterful performances, as the music is a perfect palette for their musical artistry.
