Reviews

review by: Marc

Like many of you (I can guess), I know Chris Thompson as THE VOICE of Manfred Man's Earth Band, singing on about all their hits (Blinded by the Lights...), so I was quite happy when I received in the mail this 2CD 1DVD set to review.

Live in Berlin is a recent concert given by Chris Thompson and his band. The CDs offer a good mixture of the MMEB hits with lesser known tracks and a couple of songs from an upcoming album. The sound of the recording is pretty much what the people got to hear on that night (this is not a Peter Gabriel rerecorded remastered kind of live album). The performance is very good, in a Blues Rock (think of 70's Deep Purple) kinda of a way and the audience seems to be having a very good time. The DVD covers about half the tracks on the CDs, leaving out the MMEB hits. It's a no frills production, but well filmed and recorded.

All in all this is a nice product to get, but mostly for MMEB or Chris Thompson die hard fans.
