Happy Rhodes was unknowned to me until recently. On a Web site she was described as Kate Bush meets Annie Lennox and this is just what it is. The first thing to be noticed while listening to this cd is the incredible voice. Happy's range is enormous. When she sings high she is almost a dead ringer for a young Kate Bush. When she sings lower she sounds very much like Annie Lennox. Even lower, almost like Peter Hammill on Still Life. The music is somewhat similar to David Sylvian, but a bit more New Age. Basicaly keyboards and acoustic guitar with minimal percussion. All the songs are well written and performed but the main reason for listening is that incredible voice. For those who may be tired of waiting for Kate Bush's next cd, this could do the trick.
