I recall having a couple Magnitude 9 cds a few years back, they were a neo-classical band that was kind of middle of the road compared to the more well regarded bands in that genre. Rob Johnson of course was one of the the members, and carved out his own niche as a shred guitarist, I also had his Guitarchitechture cd, which demonstrated his impeccable fretwork gymnastics.
Rob was kind of out of the loop to my ears, and I was surprised to see that he was still creating new music, this cd, shows more of what defines Rob's playing, very uptempo music that showcases his virtues on the electric guitar, this cd is very guitar-centric, whereas the other musicians are simply playing setup music for Johnson's showmanship on the guitars.
