My first impression this is one awsome release.

The Rocket Scientists were formed in the late eighties by Keyboardist Erik Norlander and Vocalist/Guitarist Mark McCrite.

The two releashed their first CD,"Earthbound". In 1993 bassist Don Schiff joined them.

In 1995 they releashed their second CD,"Brutal Architecture, and the three toured in the US and Europe in 1997 along with drummer Tommy Amoto culminating in the live CD,"Earth Below and Sky Above.

In 1999, Rocket Scientists releashed "Oblivian Days", raising the bar on already high expectations.

At the turn of the century, Norlander,Schiff and McCrite all worked on solo projects in addition to backing symphonic rock vocal icon, Lana Lane on several tours around the world.

Norlander's own six solo releashes have garnered particular note on the worldwide stage culminating in his 2006 DVD,"Live in St Petersburg" filmed in the Russian city at the last show of his recent lengthy international tour.

Celebrating the official reunion of Rocket Scientists, the fall of 2006 brought the Rocket Scientist fourth studio album,"Revolution Road".

And now they are back with an amazing retrospective box set "Looking backward".

There are 4 full length audio CD's and one DVD complete with 2.0 stereo and 5.1 surround sound mixes. The first three releashes are completly remastered along with a fourth audio CD of New recordings of classic Rocket Scientist songs reinterpreted by the band live in the studion in 2007.

The 5th disc is a DVD containing video of the 2007 sessions along with extensive interviews and historical archive footage from sessions going back to 1993. Also " AN AFTERNOON WITH EMMET CHAPMAN" and "A BRIEF HISTORY OF ROCKET SCIENCE". The boxset contains a 64 page full color booklet with lyrics and extensive liner notes from the band.

As i said this is a monster release and a thru example how a band should care for their fanbase. Furthermore this is also a great gift for the new progressive rock generation.

My favorite tracks are

ALL OF THEM

THIS IS A MONSTER PROGRESSIVE ROCK RELEASE 100 %
