After a few listens, not sure quite what to make of this one…. I have to say an album title like Alcholocaust doesn’t give me much hope that this will be a ‘Kings and Dragons’ symphonic rock opus that will blow my mind and the duo themselves bare a striking resemblance to Rob Halford and KK Downing from Judas Priest, so what to make of this music? Overly electronic really and it never rises to the occasion. I mean I want the parting of the Vodka Sea from the albums title, Jack Daniels and Johnny Walker dueling at sun-up while everyone drowns in a whirlpool of Bicardi and Coke, but it never really takes off. All the superficial, visual and vocal bravado just lies limp in need of a blue pill or something? Save your money and buy me a drink!

Hummmm…..aparently there is a new way of mixing several apart musical styles into something new and rightly dosed experimental.
Taking some not that oftenly referred philosophies, such as hedonism, esoterism and psycehelism, duo project Invisigoth offers a fresh yet dark and disturbing musicality.
Alcoholocaust may draw the listener to recognize some remniscenses of many different bands during the duration of its 52 minutes, but all must also agree that the resulting sum of the parts is a new experience, a new take on progressive approach.
The band evokes a darkwave feel, using industrial, folk, doom, hard’n’heavy, gothic, epic, spacey, psychedelic and melodic rock to serve their matters. The mix is very well achieved, turning the listening experience into something that, and in lack of better words, has as much of intriguing as it does of satisfactory.
Amongst the reminiscences I would point out Devin Townsend and latest Ayreon (mainly in what concerns some “walls-of-sound” that are created); Saviour Machine (for the doomish/apocalyptic overall sense); Queensryche (the strange melodic/epic dicotomy); Mekong Delta (the experimental and off-the-wall approach); Cirrha Niva (for the theatrical component), and the list would continue…
All in all Invisigoth brings a new breed of prog rock. Something that is challenging and bright while breathing inside a very dark, torture-like, room.
