Very interesting avant garde electronics from a Japanese artist I was not familiar with up until now. Ishida creates sonic pictures that sort of drift by with little effort, although upon repeated listens, the intricacies of each song are quite apparent. The composer has not forgotten his ethnic Japanese roots which is refreshing and after plugging into this work after a long hard day at the office an evening or two, it worked perfectly as good wind-down music without putting me to sleep. Sonic wallpaper? No, just quiet music for contemplation and ‘Fazing Redust’ is one of the more rewarding and original albums I have heard this year.
