Polish bands are hot in prog-music these days and Iluzjon, a band that was previously unknown to me proves to be another successful entry in that list of talented bands from Poland. Their release, City Zen, contains 8 tracks that will most definitely be of interest to guitar/vocals prog-lovers.
The melodies and the vocals Michal Dziadosz are melodic and catchy to sing along. The role of his keyboards are mostly in support of his fine voice and the excellent guitars of Pawel -Jess- Sierakowski. This guitar payer makes each song interesting by making the sounds on his guitar different and varied each time. Add in the fact that drummer Grzegorz Nowak is no slouch at the skins and the result is an interesting, very enjoyable, but too short album.
Lovers of Landberk will especially like City Zen and I expect that this CD and band should find a rather wide acceptance among prog fans in general. Check out samples on the web and myspace.
