I did not know what to expect from Ajatuksia Maailman Laidalta when I popped it in my CD player. What I heard is some very good seventies inspired Symphonic Prog, apparently using some vintage instruments (at least with the keyboards) and fronted by some beautiful female vocals (sung in Finnish I guess).

Music wise, seventies Camel come to mind. The lead guitar has some Andy Latimer feel to it and the keyboards often remind me of the style of Pete Bardens. Another band that comes to my mind while listening to Ajatuksia Maailman Laidalta is White Willow, that also feature female vocals and vintage instruments.

The music on Ajatuksia Maailman Laidalta is very enjoyable. I have listened to this album a few times this week and I am not at all tired of it. In fact, I'm still discovering it and that is a good thing for a Prog album.

If you are a fan of the afore mentioned bands, and perhaps also Renaissance and Karnataka, Ajatuksia Maailman Laidalta is certainly an album you should consider buying. Recommended.
