Rubber Skunk is a Manhattan-based funky, high energy band initially formed out of and drawing it's following from the the University of Delaware and environs. After graduation, the Rubber Skunks, transfered to Manhattan, New York where they did their NYC debut at Sullivan Hall, a great home to funk and jam music in Greenwich Village resulting in a repeat performance at the semi-monthly event Funk Fest.
The band's original music combines heavy elements of funk, jazz, and rock and roll with an improvisational performance structure. Live, the band also plays covers ranging from Herbie Hancock, the Meters, MMW, and Chick Corea, to Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Bill Withers, the Allman Brothers Band, and Steely Dan.
